Despite Double Moderation, My OpenAI Account Got Suspended – Any Advice?

Hey Indie Makers,

I’m reaching out because I’m a bit stuck. I’ve been running free AI-powered text-based tools and took a lot of precautions to stay within OpenAI’s usage policies. But despite all that, my account still got suspended, and I’m not sure what went wrong.

Here’s what I had in place to avoid any violations:

1. Rate Limiting: I set up IP-based rate limiting to prevent API abuse and stop spamming or overuse by any user.

2. Custom Explicit Word Filtering: I built my own filter to block inappropriate prompts before they even hit the OpenAI API.

3. Double Moderation: Every prompt was checked at two levels. First, it went through OpenAI’s Moderation API. On top of that, I had Gemini’s built-in safety settings activated to block anything related to harassment, violence, or other risky content.

With all these layers, I really thought things were covered. But somehow, my account still got flagged.

Has anyone else faced something like this? Could just a few bad prompts from users cause a suspension, even when double moderation is in place? I’m also wondering if anyone here has successfully appealed a suspension and can share how that went.

Any advice would be super helpful because I’m feeling stuck after putting so much effort into keeping things safe!

I struggled with localization in my mobile app – built a translation API as a solution

Hey everyone,

Recently I struggled a lot with localizing my mobile app. Managing translations, formats, and updates was time-consuming and messy. So I ended up building my own solution: https://langapi.io

It’s a lightweight translation API built with indie devs and small teams in mind.

This is just an MVP for now, so feel free to evaluate it. Your feedback, ideas, or suggestions would mean a lot and help shape the direction of the project.

Thanks in advance!

Would love some feedback on my latest project

Please checkout https://gocancelit.com

In-short its a community driven website specific to cancellation offers received when trying to cancel a subscription.

At the moment the sites there to test demand, but should I get enough interest and data i'll be able to build out some features like:

  • A chrome plugin that notifies you when you're on a site thats got hidden cancellation offers
  • Subscription tracker - get notifications anytime one of your subs has a cancellation offer going / monitor when your cancellation offer term is coming to an end so you can 'recancel' - effectively you'll never paying full price.

Let me know what you think!

Feedback on my landing page

Landing page feedback

Hi everyone,

I would love to get some feedback on my startup's landing page. To validate my idea, I've decided to use a free hosting site instead of a .com domain.

Do you think not having a .com domain might hinder my ability to generate leads and impact the authenticity of the site?

https://600mainst.webflow.io/

After reviewing the landing page, are there any changes or additions you would recommend?

Thank you!

What feature(s) would you like to see on Huzzler?

Hey all early members 👋

Thank you for being part of the launch of Huzzler.

I'm gathering feedback and organizing or to-do list and wondering which features you would like to have on Huzzler? Which are most important to you?

I'm thinking of adding a problem / solution feature

Why? Because many founders / indie-hackers are struggling with knowing what to build and for who.

It would work like this:

First, people regular people post their real world problems (eg. "I'm looking for a wordpress plugin to import data from Airtable and show it in blog posts."

They select how much they would want to pay for something like that: eg $100 / month

Then Huzzler members (maybe users with a subscription) can browse the full list of problems and "claim" a project (remove it from the list).

Would you like this feature? (or other features)

The main benefit is that you can instantly see real-world problems that need solving, instead of trying to build a product that no one wants.

Any feedback is appreciated, thanks again guys 👋

(ps: I'll also reward all our active early users with an exclusive badge ✅)

Install the Huzzler Mobile App

Hey everyone!

We are very excited to announce that you can now install Huzzler on your mobile device and receive push notifications. We have opted to use a PWA instead of a native app as we plan on shipping as many features in the coming weeks (problem / solution directory, accountability, marketing guides..).

To install the app: Simply visit the Huzzler homepage on a mobile device. A popup will appear with instructions on how to install the app. Cheers and let me know if you have any feedback 😁

Thanks!

Building a Code Snippets Manager - Looking for Feedback on MVP Stage

Hey everyone!

I'm new to the startup space and looking to learn from you all.

Currently, I'm working on a simple Code Snippet Manager to help developers store and organize their reusable code snippets. It’s still in the early MVP stage, and I’d love to get some feedback from the community.

Right now, the focus is on:

  • Quickly saving and retrieving snippets
  • A clean, distraction-free interface
  • Syntax highlighting for Python, HTML, and CSS

I’m curious—what features would make a tool like this truly useful for you? Would you prefer a minimal offline version or something cloud-based with sharing options?

If you’ve built or used similar tools before, I’d love to hear your thoughts! Any feedback or suggestions would be super helpful.

Thanks in advance!

Feedback / ideas for Huzzler?

Hello everyone. I'd love to hear some of your opinions on this early version of Huzzler.

  1. What features would make this most valuable for you as an indie hacker?
  2. Would you use this platform to share your projects and get feedback?
  3. What's missing that would make you want to join and participate?
  4. Any suggestions on how to build a thriving, supportive community?

I will consider all your ideas and feedback! I also want to thank all of our early active members, particularly @harvansh and @samm.

Thank you so much!

Shorter or longer USP's for Huzzler?

I can't decide between these two versions of the USPs for huzzler. The first explain Huzzler and are to the point.

The second variant is longer but explains it better.

Thanks for the feedback!

Need Honest Feedback on Unrealshot AI – I'll Set Up a Free Account for You!

Hey everyone,

I’ve been building Unrealshot AI – an AI-powered photoshoot generator that creates high-quality portraits from your selfies. No studio, no expensive cameras—just AI doing the work.

I know AI-generated photos can be a hit or miss, and that’s why I’m looking for honest feedback—good, bad, or brutally honest. If you’re up for testing it, I’d love to hear:

  • How realistic are the images?
  • Was the experience smooth or frustrating?
  • What would make it better?

If you’re interested, let me know, and I’ll set up a free account with some credits so you can try it out. Just looking for real, unfiltered opinions!

Need some feedback on guidelines for Huzzler

Good morning everyone. Today I'm working on adding some guidelines to Huzzler (category specific rules and general community rules). The goal of this is to increase the quality of the content and make sure the posts are in the correct category.

An AI will analyse every post and assign some scores to it: e.g. "wrong_category_probability", "spam_probability", "rule_violation_probability" and then a mod can easily filter and remove spam posts or move posts to a better category.

What do you think about this? Any other guidelines / rules I should add?

Thanks a lot guys!

Generate customer help docs from your front-end code - docsforge.app

Yo team!

I’m building a product that generates customer facing help documentation directly from code.

Give it context of the feature, what your product does, and the components that relate to the feature and it will generate a customer facing help doc for that feature.

Eventually it will integrate directly with your code repo, so each time code changes, a new version of your docs will get drafted.

I'm about to add a pay as you go version that allows you to generate a single help doc from 5 files for a small fee ($2.99).

Looking for feedback on:

  • Value prop of the waitlist
  • Waitlist page in general
  • Monetisation plan, pre-launch

Check the waitlist here: https://docsforge.app

Why I created Spurvo, A feedback management tool for early SaaS founders

It's a tool to capture product feedback, feature requests, organize them in a public/private roadmap with voting, and send changelogs.

Built this because I have worked in 4 SaaS companies and feedback is all over the place: Slack DMs, spreadsheets, random emails, etc.

Introducing Groop - The easiest way to plan holidays & meetings with friend groups

Let me introduce you to Groop, a product I've built out of pure frustration. Every time I wanted to meet with friends or plan a holiday it was a hassle of constant back-and-forth messaging to check who was available when.

That's why I created Groop, a simple and free solution. It works like this

  • Go to groop.cc
  • Create a Groop (Eg. summer holiday 2025)
  • Send the link to friends
  • Everyone can select available dates on a calendar
  • The dates when everyone is available are highlighted in green

It doesn't get more simpler than this. No account creation required. No more back-and-forth-messaging.

Check it out: groop.cc

Looking for feedback on my free group planning tool (Groop) - A better Doodle alternative

Hello guys. I created groop.cc. It's a free tool that makes it easier to plan group activities, vacations, events. I focused the entire app on making the experience as easy and smooth as possible.

To get started, go to groop.cc, create a groop and send the link to your friends. Your friends can then freely enter their available times on the calendar.

I created it because I got tired of the constant back and forth messaging in the group chat to see who is available at what time when trying to plan a holiday or meeting.

The big difference with other tools like Doodle is that instead of voting on predefined dates, everyone can freely add their dates to a calendar. Making it a handy tool for events that may have variable times (Eg. a summer vacation).

It's completely free and I don't have a paid tier. Maybe I'll add that in the future, but for now, I make no money from this.

Feel free to test it out. Thanks!
