Hi everyone, I'm new to this comunity

Hi everyone, I am new to this community and I hope I will be able to be as helpful as possible.

I have vast experience starting up and scaling SaaS companies, from an founder and operator perspective as well as a consultant. I have helped companies like Dropbox, DeepL, Lambda Labs, SpaceX, and many more.

So, if I can help with any questions, problems, challenges, etc... you might be facing in your GTM strategies, do not hesitate to tag me in your post or reach out.

I am also in the very early stages of building a service (#startupidea), I'll share more about it later on.

Thanks! I am sure others will appreciate the link!
You seem like a well-rounded person that has seen the world.

What's your favorite GenAI company not-named OpenAI, Anthropic, or DeepSeek right now ?

I think I might a bit biased because of how I use GenAI.

Tools that I use regularly are:
* Clay
* Replit
* 1mind (although not directly a user)

There are a few others I had seen work in alpha and beta that are related to Customer Success Agents:
* Aficio
* Cust

Which ones are yours?

Very interesting tool. What made you choose those tools in particular and not others?

Yes, I am working on a project to help entrepreneurs navigate their journey form 0 to 1m in ARR.

This is a teaser of what it can do: https://samwise.quest/who-is-my-icp/

ICP = Ideal Customer Profile.

What about you, what are you working on?

I test various tools, but stick to those that have a positive UX and appropriate price point.

Nice job cooking something for your target audience.
Tested it out for my one of my products "copymeow.com", but it requested that I add the protocol (https) in front -- you can remove that requirement really easily.

Also, it requested that I add the landing page content -- in this day and age, that's an archaic way of getting landing page content -- use a scraper to do this for you.

Working on a few products

CopyMeow -- a color guide creator to make the choice of color easier
Grake -- a gamified way to learn grammar
RealReview.Space -- an early stage SaaS testimonial collection platform

Thanks a lot for checking it out and for the feedback. Indeed, given that I am using gpt-4o, I can only use text for the analysis. But, I'll find another workaround.

Very cool tools you built there. Are you planning to grow them into a business?

BTW, I run the analysis for CopyMeow, and this is what Sam said:

[Market] Segment (who it seems you’re targeting):
Firmographics:
* Small to mid-sized design and development agencies or teams
* Primarily in the technology and creative industries
* Global reach, primarily targeting English-speaking regions

Stakeholders:
* Roles: Web designers, UI/UX designers, front-end developers
* Likely found on platforms like LinkedIn, Dribbble, Behance, and GitHub
* Engage in design and technology forums such as Designer Hangout, Designer News
* Attend design and tech events like Awwwards Conferences, UX Design Summit

Pain (what problem it seems you’re solving):
* Need for a quick and accessible way to generate colour guides from existing websites
* Desire to ensure colour accessibility in design projects
* Requirement for streamlined workflow in design processes to save time and resources

Recommendations:
Well now, it seems you're on the right path with a solution that tugs at the heart of a designer's daily grind. Extracting colour guides effortlessly is a promise that speaks directly to the pain of needing efficiency and accessibility in creative workflows. However, there's room to deepen the connection with your audience by emphasising the importance of accessibility in design. Highlight how your tool not only saves time but also promotes inclusive design practices, which is a growing concern in the industry.

To reach these creative folks, consider weaving your tale on platforms where they gather and share ideas, like Dribbble and Behance. Engage them with content that showcases how CopyMeow can be a trusty tool in their design toolkit. Share case studies or examples of how your tool improves design projects, perhaps through engaging visuals or short tutorials. As for events, a presence at design and tech conferences could work wonders. A live demo or interactive session would allow potential users to experience the magic firsthand.

Remember, the road to winning hearts is through their minds and needs. So, keep your messaging clear and focused on how you can turn their design challenges into opportunities for brilliance. Onward you go, with courage and clarity!

Thanks !

I can confirm that Sam has generated a report that corroborates with my market research findings...so keep building this tool -- buildpad.io are a competitor of yours -- check them out for inspiration.

I am growing them all in parallel, since marketing takes 1-3 months time to see measurable effects. Some projects are highly seasonal too, such as language learning

That's awesome. I am happy it worked. I'd love to know what you think about the recommendations.

Thanks for sharing buildpad, I did not know them, and you are right, seems we are trying to solve very similar problems. I'll run a deep research on them ;)

Sounds like an inbound heavy strategy. Any SEM or ads in specialised site in the mix?

BTW, I had some time today to update the scraper and now all your websites should be good to go.

There might still be an error and it might ask you for the text, but that is because I still need to optimise the code, maybe pay for the server (not use a free tier 😅)

No ads at the moment. All organic, while I build my following as well -- I have yet to be convinced on the value of ads, instead of diligent daily outreach.

Also, why don't you add your product on RealReview.Space to get more feedback and traction by the broader community ? It's a platform (I built) that matches early stage SaaS makers with one another.

Impressive background! Just curious, what’s the biggest GTM lesson you’ve learned from working with those top companies?

Mmm, hard to boil it all to one.

If I had to choose what is the most common pattern I see regardless of the scale of the companies is the accumulation of what I call "GMT debt."

Akin to Technical Debt, GTM debt happens when companies grow revenue without a proper structure in the GTM org, they tend to take any money they can get (but all revenue comes with strings attached). At one point that kind of approach start to take its toll and the growth rate slows down massively, margins get very thin, VPs get fired, the company raises money, just to start all over again.

The solution? Similar to how you solve technical debt, the solution is to put in place the right frameworks and models that shape how you go to market, how you acquire, retain, and expand revenue.
