ProductHunt Launch Tips?

Hi all,

I'm gearing to launch in ProductHunt this week. I know there is plenty of criticism around the platform so I am going into it with low expectations but I think it has to be done, at least for some discovery.

I was wondering if there are any tips that you would recommend for someone doing this for the first time?

I have polished my landing page quite well, fixed most bugs and will prepare a great intro with a follow up comment. Anything else to keep in mind?

Be genuine. Have something that people would want to share. A quick demo/intro video is essential.

I did both product hunt and Uneed.best and product hunt did nothing while Uneed brought in some real interested people. I think smaller platforms are usually better. Same way if you request feedback on reddit (which has thousands of users) you sometimes get 0 replies, while on Huzzler someone will always be here to help you.

At the end of the day, I don't think your customer will find you while browsing product hunt. So a successful launch over there or not, it doesn't really matter haha. However it's nice to be able to display the "product of the day" badge on your product page. But it's hard to beat all the bots and big companies launching on there. So I'd say put in minimum effort and put focus elsewhere. Hope this helps

Very good tips, I doubt I will find any actual users there thats true. It might help with the SEO, and somehow as a founder I just try to cover all bases. Uneed looks great will launch there as well! Thanks

Try to come across as professional as possible. Clean photos. Good description. So you can differentiate from the amateurs
