Acres

Acres is a visual Markdown notes app for macOS and Windows. Arrange notes as connected cards on an infinite canvas, organize projects with sections, mind maps, tags, and properties, and keep the files in a local folder you choose.

Built-in AI works with your own provider keys or local models. Use it to explore ideas, summarize reference material, and revise notes while reviewing proposed changes. Edits can be inspected and undone. A local MCP server lets compatible AI tools work with your workspace.

Use Acres for research, writing, meeting notes, project planning, and personal knowledge. Place source notes and drafts side by side and connect the relationships that matter.

Acres offers a 14-day trial without an account or payment details. Continued editing then requires a license or subscription. The early-adopter lifetime license costs $59 for local use. Plus costs $9 per month and includes app access, Sync, and Publish. External AI provider usage may have its own costs.
