Need your opinion on Huzzler changes

Hey all 👋 hope you're doing well!

I recently made a core change to the Huzzler feed and would love to get your opinion on this: now all posts are shown on the homepage (including those that have been detected to include promotional material).

Previously these promotional posts where only shown on the #showcases page, not on the homepage.

This makes the site feel more "alive" and gives your projects more expose, with the slight downside of having more promotional material on the homepage, which may come across as spam.

What do you guys think about this change? Keep showing promotional posts on the homepage or skip it?

Any feedback (also related to other stuff) is greatly appreciated 😁

At first I like the change because it does make it feel more alive. BUT I fear it may drown the home page, since many people want to show off work.

If you keep if I’d say, limit people to 1 showcase post per week.

You are 100% right. I actually feel the same.

My idea for Huzzler was to put quality > quantity

There are plenty of other platforms with low quality promotional content. The AI promotion detection system we have actually is something unique and we should put to use.

I'll change it back so posts that add no value to the community (blatant promotion) are hidden on the homepage.

However if someone makes a post about their product, describe their journey, struggles and how they built it I feel like it adds value. So those kind of posts will appear on the homepage.
