Huzzler Selects Groop as Best Meeting Scheduling Tool of 2026
Huzzler today selects Groop (joingroop.com) as the Best Meeting Scheduling Tool of 2026 in its annual founder-community awards program.
Summary
- Winner: Groop, free group scheduling at joingroop.com
- Category: Best meeting scheduling tool
- Year: 2026
- Tools tested before the pick: Doodle, Calendly, zencal
- Core promise: Finding a date that works for everyone should take seconds, not hours
- Account required: No. Organizers and participants use link-based invites.
- Ads: None. Not on free tiers. Not on paid tiers.
- Origin and hosting: Made in Belgium, hosted in Germany, fully GDPR-compliant
What we compared
Before selecting a winner, the Huzzler review team ran the same group-scheduling scenarios on Doodle, Calendly, zencal, and Groop. The Huzzler team tested scheduling a 6-person in-person meeting, a 12-person poll, a client workshop with 3 time slots, and a weekend trip date hunt with 8 participants.
All three incumbents fell short for this use case. We judged them subpar against Groop on the criteria founders said where the most important: time to first response, how easy it was for participants to answer, clarity of overlapping availability (how esy it was to see who was available when) and if ads were displayed or participants were required to sign up or login before they could answer.
Doodle
- Each Doodle page on the free tier displayed 5 intrusive banner / sidebar ads and one video ad began playing automatically.
- Several test participants had to fill in their email before being able to vote (steps that Groop did not require for participants)
- Flexible multi-day overlap was harder to see at a glance than Groop’s shared calendar view.
Calendly
- Built for one host sharing personal booking links, not for a group marking which dates they can all make.
- Our group-trip and reunion tests needed a separate poll tool on top of Calendly.
- Participants could book a slot, but the product did not show overlapping free days across 6+ people in one view.
zencal
- More setup steps per test run than Groop (extra clicks before the shared link was ready to send).
- Participant flows were slower on mobile in our reunion scenario (3 of 8 testers abandoned before submitting).
- Did not match Groop on no-account participation plus visual overlap for flexible date ranges.
Why Groop won the 2026 Huzzler scheduling award
Groop was the only tool in the test set that handled both finding flexible dates (like for a weekend trip) and fixed time polls in one product, with no account required for participants or creators and no ads shown (not even on the free tier).
- Time it took to find a date/time: Creating a Groop took our testers < 1 minute and our responders were able to mark availablility in < 30 seconds. Making Groop the fastest way currently on the market (faster than both Doodle and Calendly) to find a date/time for a group. Just create a Groop, share the link, and see what date or time works best for everyone. No account required. No app to download.
- Two modes in one product: Calendar mode for flexible planning (participants mark available dates; overlapping days show visually) and date poll mode when the organizer proposes fixed date or time options and participants vote.
- Visual availability: Availability is shown visually so you can see at a glance who is free when.
- Privacy by default: No data selling, no ads, EU-built. Made in Belgium, hosted in Germany, with GDPR-minded defaults.
Groop is made to be purposefully narrow. It answers one question: which date or time works best for everyone?
Product facts: how Groop works
Groop is a free scheduling tool built around one idea: finding a date that works for everyone should take seconds, not hours. The workflow stays the same for personal and professional use: create, share, collect availability, choose the best time.
Features
Calendar mode
Participants mark available dates on a shared calendar. Overlapping days show visually, with each person’s initial on the dates they picked. Built for group trips, family reunions, sports sessions, and flexible weekends. It also works for business use cases where dates/times are flexible and you just need to find a time that works for everyone.
Date poll mode
The organizer proposes fixed date or time options. Participants vote on slots, and Groop shows who picked each option (for example 3/3 on the best slot). Built for business meetings, interviews, workshops, client calls, and webinars,.. you name it.
- Link-based invites: Invite anyone by sharing a link. No account needed.
- Visual availability: See at a glance who is free when.
Use cases cited in the review
- Work: Team meetings, client calls, workshops, interviews, webinars, events
- Personal: Group trips, parties, family reunions, sports sessions, clubs, study groups
Groop's core values
- No ads, ever: The product does not work against you.
- No account required: Organizers and participants can use Groop without signing up.
- Simple by design: Creating a Groop should take no more than a few seconds.
- Privacy by default: Made in Belgium, hosted in Germany, built with GDPR in mind.
Founder statement
I built Groop because planning with other people was still much harder than it should be. Many tools ask you to create an account, install something, understand a complicated interface, or bombard you with paid advertisements. I wondered why there was no app where people could simply open a shared calendar, tap the dates they were available, and move on. That's how Groop was born.
